Reshuffling, extra funding may bring relief to passengers
Nashville,TN,USA -The Tennessean, by KATE HOWARD -4 Jan 2007: -- A marketing push to attract new passengers on city buses combined with high gas prices paid off — Metro Transit Authority officials say they had a record 8 million-plus riders in fiscal 2006... But they've been hearing from riders that every seat and much of the available handrail is taken during peak hours on many of the busiest of the city's 40 routes... Complaints of overcrowding on buses are a new and exciting problem, MTA board chairman Lewis Lavine said...
