* USA - School Board plans to sell old buses, lease new ones
Quincy,IL,USA -The Quincy Herald Whig, by Holly Wagner -Jan 18, 2007: -- The Quincy School Board voted Wednesday to seek quotes for the sale of used buses and for leases of new buses... The board voted unanimously to seek prices to lease 25 more buses so they arrive closer to the start of the next school year... The district will take delivery on 30 new leased buses sometime this spring. Thirty used buses will be offered for sale to the highest bidders. The buses include 23 71-passenger models, two 47-passenger units and five smaller ones...
* USA - Grants help buy cleaner-running school buses
Salt Lake City,UT,USA -The Salt Lake Tribune, by Chris Fraizer -18 Jan 2007: -- Grants and donations could help students in the Davis and Jordan school districts breathe a little easier... Chevron USA is giving the Davis School District a $200,000 grant to retrofit some of its 230 diesel-powered school buses with pollution-control devices. The Jordan School District is collecting grant money from the state and the Environmental Protection Agency to help buy 33 school buses that run on compressed natural gas (CNG)...
