Record * UK - 108 million trips on the buses in Lothian this year
Edinburgh,Scotland,UK -The Scotsman, by ALAN RODEN -19 Dec 2006: -- Bus passengers are set to make a record 108 million trips on Lothian Buses this year... New park-and-ride services and extra buses on some of the city's busiest routes are said to have helped attract more people on to public transport... It is the eighth year in a row that the council-owned company has seen passenger numbers rise... The latest increase means an average of 300,000 people a day are now using Lothian Buses - five million up on last year and one-third higher than eight years ago...
