* USA - More than a dozen hurt in bus crash
Benton City,WA,USA -Mid Columbia Tri City Herald (Mid-Columbia,WA), by Elena Olmstead & Nathan Isaacs -16 Dec 2006: -- A chartered Greyhound bus carrying 40 young people rear-ended a Coca-Cola semi-truck on Interstate 82 on Friday afternoon, sending more than a dozen people to area hospitals... Capt. Berry said the bus rear-ended the Coca-Cola truck and slid across the highway median, crossing the opposing traffic lanes before stopping in the exit lane for Yakitat Road... Berry said witnesses saw the bus passing other cars along the interstate. He said investigators were not sure Friday evening just how fast the bus was going, but witnesses said it was above the speed limit...
* Austria - 45 injured in bus accident in
Vienna,Austria -Xinhua/chinaview.cn -Dec. 17, 2006: -- A total of 45 people were injured in a bus accident at midnight on Saturday in Salzburg in central Austria, local media reported on Sunday... "When driving nearly out of the tunnel, I was not sure whether to go, right or left," the 44-year-old Bosnian bus driver told the police after the accident... As result, the double-decker travel bus flipped over the middle concrete guard rail, slithered about 40 meters, overturned and ended up on the right side of the roadway...
* USA - 57 Sent To Hospitals After Accident Involving School Buses
Memphis,Tenn,USA -WHBQ -18 Dec 2006: -- Multiple ambulances were dispatched to Germantown Road and Stout Road after four school buses and a car collided this afternoon... Officials said that 57 people were transported to area hospitals... (See photo right)
