* USA - One student in serious condition after Mississippi bus wreck
Summit,MISS,USA -WREG (Memphis,TN) -16 Oct 2006: -- Authorities say 23 children and a school bus driver were hospitalized on Monday after the bus collided with a truck carrying live chickens... One of the children was transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in serious condition... The sheriff's office says the bus was taking students to North Pike Middle School when it struck a Sanderson Farms chicken truck at about 7:40 a.m. today...
* Tanzania - 11 killed in a bus crash
Dar es Salaam,Tanzania -News24 (South Africa) -16 Oct 2006: -- At least 11 people were killed and 25 injured after a crowded bus in which they were travelling from Zambia to Kenya overturned in southwest Tanzania, said police on Monday... They said the accident took place late on Sunday near the Tanzanian town of Mbeya, some 800km south of the country's commercial capital of Dar es Salaam... Road accidents were common in the east African nation and police usually blamed them on violations of the traffic regulations, poor road or vehicle conditions and exhaustion among long-distance drivers... In June, two horrific accidents, one involving an overloaded bus and one involving a cargo truck, killed at least 84 people in northern Tanzania...
