He says he just was doing his job... The incident happened in late September as Martinez was driving ninth-grade student Leslie Sims, secured in a wheelchair, home at the end of the school day... When Martinez stopped the bus at the city’s main intersection, its engine stalled and burst into flames... As smoke filled the small bus’s cabin, Martinez rushed to the back and pulled the 14-year-old student from her wheelchair, Cranfills Gap Independent School District Superintendent Carla Sigler said...
