Changes II - Canada - Bus changes anger citizens

Saanich,BC, Canada -The Saanich News -by Andrea Lavigne -Sep 20 2006: -- A delegation of angry bus riders from Saanich Peninsula petitioned the Victoria Regional Transit Commission to revisit scheduling changes made to the fall schedule. "We've got the impression that we're second-class citizens," said Robin Dunn, spokesperson for the delegation... BC Transit cancelled 72 Sidney and express trips in the 70 Pat Bay schedule as part of scheduling changes for September. The changes have resulted in longer commutes for passengers and crowded conditions on buses... Many passengers must stand while the bus travels at highway speeds. "God help us if there's ever an accident," Dunn said... There was no public consultation made before the changes were adopted...
