Gang Violence - Brazil - Police attacked, buses torched
Sao Paulo, Brazil -The Australian (Sydney,Australia)/AFP -August 09, 2006: -- A new wave of gang violence wracked Brazil's financial capital of Sao Paulo, with six people killed and scores of attacks - bus burnings, drive-by shootings and bombings - blamed on a powerful crime syndicate, authorities and local media said... Two people were killed in some 78 attacks on a myriad of targets yester - police stations, banks, petrol stations, buses, government buildings and even supermarkets, police said... Four suspects were shot dead down in attacks, local news media reported... Police stations were attacked in drive-by shootings and at least seven busses torched, according to the reports...
