Take the bus - USA - Save money and stress
This is just for those of us who can't completely cut the auto-umbilical
Cincinnati,OH,USA -The Cincinnati Enquirer, by DAVID WELLS -June 4, 2006: -- We don't have subways, light rail, trolley cars, trams, els or cable cars in Greater Cincinnati, but we do have a couple of mass transit systems that can help you take your foot off the gas and generally save money on commuting... Metro uses 390 buses to make 23 million passenger trips per year on the Ohio side of the river... The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) runs 130 buses on routes through Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, and into Downtown Cincinnati. TANK's Southbank Shuttle also makes a circuit connecting the riverfronts of Cincinnati, Covington and Newport... Don't tell me the buses don't have lines running out near your house. And don't tell me the closest route to where you live doesn't have buses going by at convenient times. If the bus doesn't come to you, you can hop in your car and go to it. It's called Park and Ride, and both Metro and TANK offer the service, with dozens of free lots where you can park your private little gas hog while riding into town aboard a bus... One more thing: both Metro and TANK are subsidized systems, which means you are helping pay for them whether you use them or not. So, you might as well climb on board, sit back and enjoy the ride...
