Charter bus - USA - Company to cease several upstate operations
CLINTON, N.Y.,USA -WCAX - (Burlington,VT)/AP -14 Apr 2006: -- Charter bus company Coach U-S-A announced today that it will lay off 100 people in their upstate New York operations... The company tells that their Clinton facility -- in Oneida County -- will be shut down, leaving 35 people jobless. June 30th will be the last day of service... Operations in Elmira, Syracuse and Rochester are also being shut down. Company officials site the cost of fuel and insurance rate increases as reasons for the closings... New Jersey-based Coach U-S-A -- along with Coach Canada -- is comprised of more than 20 independent charter bus operations throughout the U-S and Canada. Both divisions are owned by the Stagecoach Group, a Scottish global transportation company... (Photo)
