WASHINGTON,DC,USA -The Washington Post /United Press International -Mar 2 2006: -- Federal regulators say that 11 bus companies operating in the Boston-Washington corridor are in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act... The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration checked 14 lines and found only three providing the required accommodation for passengers in wheelchairs... Federal regulations require carriers with revenues of more than $7.2 million to provide some buses with wheelchair lifts, while smaller carriers must be able to accommodate the disabled with 48 hours notice...
