Prognosis - USA - Bill to replace buses every 12 years advances
COLUMBIA,Myrtle Beach,SC,USA -Associated Press/Myrtle Beach Sun News -Mar. 01, 2006: -- The state would replace one-twelth of its school bus fleet annually under a bill passed out of a Senate subcommittee on Wednesday... The proposed replacement cycle means that, eventually, no school bus would be older than 12 years old. The House approved the measure, expected to cost $26 million next school year, earlier this month... Nearly half of the state's fleet of 5,700 buses are at least 15 years old, said Don Tudor, the state Education Department's transportation director...
