Pensioners - UK - 30,000 risk missing the free bus
United Kingdom -Scotsman, by ALAN RODEN -6 Mar 2006: -- Nearly 30,000 pensioners in Edinburgh have failed to apply for a new bus pass that allows free travel across Scotland... The Scottish Executive-run scheme begins next month and OAPs and disabled passengers will need a new entitlement card to ensure a free ride on any bus route across the country... Existing passes, issued by local councils, will be phased out and people over the age of 60 without a national card will have to pay to use bus services...
