EPA grant, district pay for diesel devices
Traverse City,MI,USA -Traverse City Record Eagle -6 Mar 2006: -- Puffs of exhaust from school buses in Traverse City will be cleaner soon, thanks to a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency... The EPA awarded $140,365 to Traverse City Area Public Schools through the federal Clean School Bus USA program... The initiative aims to reduce children's exposure to diesel exhaust and the amount of air pollution created by diesel school buses... The funds will help TCAPS replace one 1984 model year diesel school bus and retrofit its fleet of 120 buses with diesel oxidation catalysts...
