A report presented to the board's Administration and Finance Committee concluded the protocols do enhance safety for primary students. However, all those charged with the care of these students must adhere to the procedures... Local school boards operate a joint school bus service and transport an estimated 68,000 students, using 11 different bus companies. Approximately 8,000, to 10,000 of those students are kindergarten to Grade 1 pupils riding more than 600 buses daily...
