PURCHASES - USA - New Orleans mayor touts plan to buy hybrid buses
NEW ORLEANS,USA -KATC7/Lafayette,LA -May 23 2005: -- The Regional Transit Authority's planned purchase of four diesel hybrid-electric buses tops the list of actions touted by New Orleans Mayor to reduce city-created carbon emissions in an effort to fight global warming... If the buses prove successful, the RTA expects to buy 75 more in 2006 when about a fifth of the system's buses are scheduled for replacement...
