Norton -Jun 23 2005: -- Boston Mayor: Thomas Menino, dealing with city asthma rates among the highest in the country, today applauded a team effort to clean up emissions from private tour buses and eliminate the odious black puffs of smokes that older diesel engines produce... With smog blanketing the city and temperatures pushing 90 degrees, officials announced that 35 diesel-powered tourist trolleys owned by Beantown Trolley and Old Town Trolley have been retrofitted with oxidation catalysts that will reduce the release of particulate matter that can lodge in the throats of those who breathe it...
