Collins Bus Corporation announced today it has completed its first NEXBUS Hybrid-Electric school bus. The first bus, configured for 14 seats plus a wheelchair position will be delivered to the Napa Valley Unified School District in Napa, California. The bus is built on a Ford E-450 chassis with Azure Dynamic's parallel drive system... NEXBUS is Collins' trademarked name for the series of buses using advanced technologies such as hybrid electric drive systems and other green technologies. Abu Dhabi,UAE -The UAE Interact -18 Jan 2009: -- Bus passengers between Musaffah and Abu Dhabi can expect shorter waits from next month, a transport official said... Saaed al Hameli, the general manager of buses for the Department of Transport, said more buses would run to Musaffah in February as the department aimed to gradually improve the service from one every 40 minutes to one every 20 minutes... Shelbyville,TN,USA -The Shelbyville Times-Gazette, by Sadie Fowler -September 21, 2008: -- Bedford County Board of Education met Thursday evening at the Shelbyville Central High School library, following a reception for new teachers, to discuss a hefty agenda that was highlighted by building program updates and school test scores... The board reported it will purchase four 90-passenger school buses from Mid-South Bus Center, Inc. in Murfreesboro to accommodate increased student enrollment and an increase in number of students riding buses this year as a result of the rising price of gasoline... The cost of the four buses is approximately $310,000... The new buses also replace old buses that are being rotated out of the system. Staten Island,NY,USA -silive, by MAURA YATES -September 09, 2008: -- The MTA and New York City Transit unveiled a new 81-seat, low-floor Van Hool double-decker bus yesterday, as part of a pilot program to determine if the behemoths could once again resume passenger service along some of the city's public bus routes... The month-long test, which is set to begin Thursday, will determine whether the new buses are tough enough to handle the rigors -- and potholes -- of New York City streets... The agency has not yet finalized its test routes, though they are expected to include one between Manhattan and Yonkers, local routes in Manhattan, and possibly an express to Staten Island route. Among the issues to be hammered out are the heights of bridges along certain routes, and tree pruning that may be necessary before the 13-foot-tall bus can hit particular streets...Labels: new buses

This bus was on the 72 and is pictured along College Avenue in Tempe...
