BUSES FARES * UK: In North Ireland fares will not go up

* Belfast - Fares freeze for NI buses
-- Transport Minister Michelle McIlveen said, she took the decision in light of falling fuel costs and to encourage greater use of public transport... Last year, saw the average train ticket price rise by 4.5 percent, which Translink described as “a last resort”... But with slower than expected growth in the use of rail and bus services in 2015, along with a difficult economic climate and comparatively low fuel costs, the minister decided a further increase would only deter people from using these services...
