* Illinois - I. Tollway, Pace pin hopes on bus service

Chicago,ILL,USA -The Chicago Tribune, by Richard Wronski -July 26, 2014: -- The Illinois Tollway and Pace have taken a major step toward bringing more express bus service to the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, and motorists' tolls will help pay for it... Under a partnership agreement the agencies finalized last week, the Tollway will turn over three parcels of land along the Addams (Interstate 90) that Pace will use for new park-and-ride lots, the first ones built along the Tollway system, officials said... Tollway and Pace officials anticipate that the lots, along with new express bus routes and feeder service, will reduce congestion on the Tollway and increase access to jobs in Chicago and employment centers along the Addams corridor...
* Illinois - Grundy Transit System gets multiple new buses
Morris,Ill,USA -The Morris Daily Herald, by Jessica Bourque -July 25, 2014: ... The Grundy Transit System finally received four new buses this week... Last month, GTS acquired an additional bus that was promised in 2011, making that five new buses for the system in just one month... In total, GTS now has nine buses which will greatly help meet the needs of the county's ever-expanding ridership. From 2013 to 2014, GTS Director, Sherey Zerbian said, the Grundy Transit System saw a 38.8 percent increase in ridership numbers, jumping from 7,900 to 11,000 riders in just one year...
