In addition to reducing the weight of the bus body, Alcoa solutions including Alcoa forged wheels and Huck Spin® fasteners reduced the overall bus weight by 1.2 tons in total. * China - COSLIGHT to produce pure electric buses within two years
Hong Kong,China -Busworld -22 Nov 2011: -- The Hong Kong-listed battery manufacturer Coslight Technology International Group Co., Ltd. (Coslight) intends to produce pure electric buses within two years, revealed Coslight chairman Song Dianquan recently. With the production lines in its Harbin base expanded, the annual battery production capacity will increase to 400,000 kWh... The company’s lithium-ion battery life can reach seven years, according to Coslight, and is rechargeable till up to 3,000 times. Vehicles equipped with these batteries can reach a speed up to 120 km/h... According to Song, there are eight auto manufacturers that have applied the lithium-ion batteries it developed for electric vans, and the company has signed agreements with Chongqing Hengtong Bus and GAC to provide 34 lithium-ion battery systems for the two Chinese automakers. The company expects to double sales revenue of the lithium-ion batteries...
