Manchester,UK -pteg -11 February 2011: -- Passengers in Salford will soon be able to jump onboard a new high frequency ‘green’ bus, running between Salford Crescent Railway Station and MediaCityUK... Councillors from Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority (GMITA) today approved the awarding of an initial 12-month contract for a new bus link in the area, with an option to extend up to a maximum of eight years... The low carbon service will run on a new eco-fleet of four hybrid-electric buses and will operate a 10-minute service on weekdays and a 15-minute service in the evenings and at weekends... The total number of ‘green’ buses coming to Greater Manchester as a result of successful bids made to the Green Bus Fund by GMPTE and operators is 161...
