Bus Rapid Transit Project * Jordan - Kicks Off at Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street
Amman,Jordan -Al Bawaba -July 14, 2010: -- Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) started the execution of construction works of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project on two sections of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street... The works area between Yajouz intersection, Ad-Dawriyat Al Kharijiyah (highway patrols), Jordan University Mosque intersection, and the area between the University Hospital bridge and Al Sahafeh (Press) tunnel... GAM announced that one lane of each way is to be closed and cars are allowed to pass through the other two lanes along the street, also speed shall be reduced to 50 km/hour, for the safety of vehicles, pedestrians, and workers in the area...
