NEW SYSTEM * USA - Pine Ridge bus system launches Feb. 2
Rapid City,SD,USA -The Rapid City Journal, by Barbara Soderlin -January 31, 2009: -- A new public bus system will begin operating Monday, Feb. 2, on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, giving residents there an affordable way to travel to stores, work and relatives' homes... The buses and the system, to be called Oglala Sioux Transit, will work like Rapid City's Rapid Ride system, where people can ride a fixed route or "dial a ride" for pick-up closer to their homes if they use a wheelchair or have other mobility challenges... The bus will make it possible for people to get around safely, especially for anyone with sometimes unreliable cars and trucks...
