PLANS * India - CIRT suggests deluxe bus service to help PMPML
Pune,India -The Times of India -31 Jan 2009: -- The Central Institute of Road Transport has suggested to the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) to start high-end deluxe bus service to attract car users... On the other hand, Uttam Khobragade, general manager of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply Transport (BEST) undertaking, on Friday said that to tide over the funds crisis for getting new buses, the PMPML can seek necessary loans, which, however, should be used effectively to improve public transport... Khobragade said the PMPML should start special bus services for the corporate class, schools and so on... The bus service should be extremely good on all aspects, he said... The BEST, he said, has been able to induct new buses on a regular basis...
