BUSES PURCHASE * Canada & USA - Skyrocketing school bus prices concern district
Williams,B.C., Canada -The Williams Lake Tribune - February 06, 2009: -- School District 27 board gave three readings Feb. 5 to approve spending up to $436,400 to purchase four new school buses to replace buses in the fleet that are reaching their replacement dates... Secretary-treasurer Bonnie Roller says she will be watching the market very closely to determine the best time to buy the buses. When she checked last December she said the cost of buses had skyrocketed, so the Ministry of Education is also looking at the possibility of a bulk purchase of buses for all districts in the province to save money... She says there are two main bus suppliers in the province and they always go to tender to get the best price...
