NEW FLEETS * Dubai - 500 ultra-modern buses for Dubai public transport
Almost 500 extra buses have been procured by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in a bid to cut traffic congestion in Dubai
Dubai -Zawya/Gulf News -Dec 13, 2008: -- The Public Transport Agency at the RTA announced the arrival of 476 new buses on Friday. The new fleet includes standard buses, articulated buses and double-decker buses... Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dossari, CEO of the RTA's Public Transport Agency, said:
"The RTA is seeking to raise the percentage of trips made by mass transit modes to 30 per cent by 2020"... The new buses are fitted with the latest technology and will feature an audio announcement informing passengers of the next bus stop. A bus positioning system will be linked to a control centre at the agency...
