DISCRIMINATION * UK - Disabled "Refused by citybus drivers"
Nottingham,England,UK -This is Nottingham -5 October 2007: -- Bus drivers at Nottingham City Transport have been accused of being rude to people with learning disabilities and even refusing to carry them... A group of passengers with learning disabilities, supported by an independent advocacy organisation, gave evidence describing their experience... One sufferer, Roger Grange, 54, from Sherwood, said he had been thrown off a bus without good reason on two occasions since February... In the first, he claimed the driver said: "You smell, get off"... He also said he was asked to get off a bus at 9pm on a Sunday two weeks ago when the electronic reader failed to accept his valid city card pass... (Picture: www.buszone.co.uk)
