Super metro buses * Australia - To face Sydney test
"115 people on a bus means 115 fewer people cars congesting our road network," NSW Transport Minister John Watkins
Sydney,New South Wales,Australia -The Sydney Morning Herald -August 15, 2007: -- New "Super Metro" buses carrying up to 115 passengers will be trialled in Sydney early next year... NSW Transport Minister John Watkins said the 12-month trial service would run from Kingsford to Leichhardt via the new Mid City transport interchange at Town Hall... The buses will be prepaid only to save time and run every five minutes, on routes going past the universities of Sydney and NSW... Each bus will use low emission technology, running on either Euro 5 diesel or natural gas... The buses will carry more than twice as many passengers as standard buses - even more than Sydney's bendy buses, which only have room for 85 people... (Picture by netjournal.homestead.com)
