* USA - Long-term plan keeps school buses rolling
Beaufort,SC,USA -The Beaufort Gazette - Apr 2, 2007: -- State lawmakers recently recognized and acted on a proposition that seems so obvious, one wonders what took so long... House members voted to budget money annually to replace the state's aging school bus fleet... Instead of playing catch-as-catch-can with the safety of our children, the lawmakers committed to replacing all of the state's 5,700 buses every 15 years. Most importantly, this operating cost would be part of the state's operating budget and would be an ongoing commitment...
