SECURITY * New Zealand - Stagecoach Trials Cameras On Buses
Havelock Nth,Hawkes Bay,New Zealand -newswire.co.nz -11 Jan 2007: -- Four Stagecoach buses in south Auckland have been fitted with security cameras after several drivers were attacked... The six-month trial, which means all activity on the buses is monitored, is being run in partnership with the Auckland Regional Transport Authority... Stagecoach says the move was been prompted by the assault and robbery of up to five drivers over a three-month period last year... The spokesperson says a decision on whether to fit all 900 buses in the Stagecoach fleet with cameras will be made when the trial is over...
