Purchases - Philippines - Government to buy ‘clean’ buses
Manila,Philippines -Manila Standard Today, by Joyce Pangco Pañares and Macon Ramos Araneta -1 May 2006: -- President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo yesterday ordered the Development Bank of the Philippines and Landbank to release P1.4 billion to buy buses that can run on compressed natural gas, saying that will help the government save money... In December, the first 200 units of CNG-fueled buses from China arrived in the country for use in Metro Manila... Mrs. Arroyo said she wanted 2,000 CNG buses plying major Metro Manila routes by 2010.
