Gloucester is hiring qualified applicants who want to work a few hours twice a day

Newport News,VA,USA -GLOUCESTER Daily Press,by MATHEW PAUST -May 25, 2006: -- Gloucester High School might be able to start a little later next year if only 10 more Sandy Shipleys could be hired... Shipley drives a school bus -loves driving a school bus, and, unfortunately, her kind is getting tougher to find... A perennial shortage of drivers puts a strain on scheduling and route assignments, which ultimately makes life harder for the students... Last year, Transportation Director Roger Kelly introduced a new routing system to ensure that elementary school children would no longer have to ride the same bus as older children. That meant that 10 of the 95 buses had to make three runs each morning and night to carry middle and high school students...
