Discontinue transportation - USA - No more school buses to Kennywood
Pittsburgh,PA,USA -Pittsburgh Post Gazette, by Madeline Izzo April 20, 2006: -- Students won't be able to take a bus to Kennywood this year from the Seneca Valley School District... The school board voted unanimously last week to discontinue transportation to the park due to safety concerns and to the declining number attending the annual trip after school lets out... According to Terry Henry, director of operations, 13 buses took 650 students in 1994. Last year, only five buses were required to take 151 students who signed up. Of greater concern, he said, was that after waiting an hour beyond the designated departure time, only 50 students had showed up to take the bus home...
