Rotorua,New Zealand -The Daily Post, by ALISON BROWN -23 Mar 2006: -- Thousands of Rotorua residents are abandoning their vehicles in favour of riding the bus as petrol price hikes take their toll... New Zealand motorists were smacked in the wallet again this week with petrol and diesel increasing 5c a litre... Fuel prices have been steadily rising since January as petrol companies pass on the rising cost of crude oil... Recent hikes have prompted increased bus patronage in Rotorua, particularly on Saturdays...
