Here's why the reader was suspicious: About 9:15 one morning last week, he saw about a half-dozen traffic cops with laser guns pulling over people where South Bronough Street merges into South Adams... TPD Sgt. Steve Gauding gave the same answer the Highway Patrol lieutenant gave: No, no quotas to generate an end-of-month ticket frenzy. "With the high number of fatalities we have had," he wrote by e-mail, "and with a number of them being speed-related, we are trying to slow drivers down"...
