Accidents - South Africa - MEC acts to cut death buses
Cape Town,South Africa -News24 -8 Feb 2006: -- The Western Cape education department is working on a policy to curb bus accidents that continue to claim pupils' lives... This follows the death of two primary-school girls in a bus accident near Malmesbury on Tuesday... The bus, carrying about 50 pupils from Anne Pienaar Memorial School in the Swartland, overturned about 12km outside Malmesbury. The pupils were returning home from school... One pupil had a serious leg injury and 15 others were taken to hospitals in Malmesbury and Paarl... It is not known what caused the accident, but initial reports suggest brake failure, according to authorities...
