Purchases - USA - Elk Grove Buys 10 Diesel Buses
ELK GROVE, Cal,USA -The Associated Press -Dec 12, 2005: -- The Sacramento suburb of Elk Grove used to brag that its “e-tran” mass transit was the first in the nation to use only hybrid gasoline-electric buses, making it one of the country’s cleanest systems... But the city recently bought 10 diesel buses to keep up with ridership that has nearly doubled since service began a year ago... The city paid $17.4 million for the 21 buses in its hybrid fleet. It spent $12,000 total for the 10 diesel buses, which are 14 years old...
