John Hertel was named last week to head the authority charged with coordinating and improving public transportation systems in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw counties... Plans for a regional bus rapid transit system running along four main corridors have been in the works for years, and creation of the Regional Transit Authority earlier this year brought the project closer to reality...
