Competition on Buses * UK - Passengers' welcome
Bus passengers have welcomed a new service which is undercutting transport giant First in Bath
Bath,EN,UK -This is Bath -7 Oct 2010: ... Rival firm Wessex Connect has expanded its coverage of the city to go head-to-head with First on two new routes... Now in its second week, Wessex Connect's new services are offering a cheaper alternative to First's... Passenger Zena Rowlands, 41, who was catching one of the new services from Twerton into the city centre this week, said she appreciated the rival buses as she coped with pregnancy... One of the supporters for The Bath Bus Users Group, is Councillor David Dixon (Lib Dem, Walcot), who said: "Competition is good but to another extent it's hard work. We don't want bus wars going on because it has a negative impact to the environment" ... Mr Dixon is supporting the group after a row with First over changes to services affecting the Larkhall area earlier this year... (Picture: Getting WC's Bus to campus)
