The move comes in the wake of a growing number of assaults on board buses, particularly after dark... Options being looked at to prevent crime include cash-free buses after seven at night, and a security screen around the driver... police will be encouraging off-duty and on-duty officers to travel on the buses and will provide additional cars to patrol problem routes, particularly in south Auckland...
