A new initiative to clean up our air
Madison,WI,USA -WMTV, by Leigh Mills -Mar 9, 2006: -- You may soon notice a reduced amount of black smoke pouring out of the exhaust pipes of school buses... Every day in this country there are nearly half a million big yellow school buses on our streets taking kids to and from school, and that means a lot of pollution is emitted into our air... Thursday the Environmental Protection Agency awarded the Madison Metropolitan School District, along with 13 other districts and 5 bus companies, a nearly $300,000 grant... The money will be used to buy and install pollution control mufflers on 300 buses in southern Wisconsin...
