Fuel cells go public in Trafalgar Square
London,UK -Imperial College London/Fuel Cell Works(USA) -9 Oct 2005: -- Trafalgar Square filled with the eco-friendly vehicles of the future on 3 October 2005 as researchers from Imperial took part in an event highlighting the potential of fuel cells... A London bus that runs on hydrogen fuel cells and has no greenhouse gas emissions was one of the exhibits on display to members of the public at the event, which was organised by Grove Fuel Cell and the London Hydrogen Partnership... Fuel cells have the potential to provide environmentally friendly power for vehicles, portable goods such as laptops, and homes or office blocks. They produce energy by combining fuel and an oxidant. Where the cells are fuelled by hydrogen, the only products are energy and water, so no greenhouse gases are emitted...
