Few industries feel the impact of rising fuel costs more directly than trucking... In recent months, motor carriers have, like many businesses, reported that rising fuel costs hit their bottom line, impacting quarterly profits. The trucking industry will spend at least $72 billion on fuel in 2005 – a $10 billion increase over 2004 figures. That follows a $10 billion increase over 2003.
