One such initiative is the swapping of its aging diesel-powered urban bus fleets for new units with natural gas engines. Initiated by the Beijing Municipality in preparation for the 2008 Games, Iveco has been chosen for the first wave of 300 state-of-the-art NEF 200 engines, each of which will run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
