INJURIES - AUSTRALIA - 1100 claims paid out
Australia - NEWS.com.au, by Chris Pippos - 12/DEC/2004 -- PASSENGERS and crash victims have been paid $20 million in compensation following incidents involving Adelaide buses since the system was privatised.... About half the 1100 claims paid since 2000 involved "non-crash events", such as passengers being injured after a bus stopped or turned suddenly.... The Transport Workers Union says injuries could have been avoided if timetables gave drivers more time to meet tight route deadlines.
